5 Types of Videos for your business

videos for your business

1 – Screencast Tutorial Videos

I am sure you have seen these. Basically, the video is a screenshot or series of shots from the producer’s computer, demonstrating how to do something. These kinds of videos are really cool. You get the feeling of sitting over the person’s shoulder while they show you how to use a online tool or create some special effect for your website and numerous other things.

There are many free and paid tools that you can use to create these types of videos for your audience.

Here are 2 of them that I know of:

1 – Jing Project: Free and paid version. At the free level, which is good enough for most, you can record a video up to 5 minutes in length.

2 – Screencast-o-Matic: Free and paid version. I am using the free version currently which I find more than adequate. You can record a video up to 15 minutes in length for free. You can also add cursor effects which highlights and add color to your video for emphasis.

2 – Review videos

Videos of yourself reviewing products in your industry or gadgets or tools that you use in your business. You can also shoot videos that review industry related books that you have read.

3 – How-to Videos starring YOU

The first type of video in this blog post was to do how-to videos by sharing your computer screen. You can also do how-to videos where you give instructions using ‘face-time’. This is a popular type of video used in online marketing and business circles. A couple of examples:
A Productivity or Self-development coach may make a video called, “How to take control of your time”

An Article Marketing coach may make a video called, “How to grow your list by writing 1 article per day”

4 – Slideshow Video

If you are starting a new business or relaunching an existing one, you may consider doing a nice Slideshow video. Ideally your slideshow video should contain images of your logo, photos that represent your brand or target audience, several tag lines or key messages that are directly linked to your business, product or service, some music, transition effects and Joila! You’re done.

You don’t need to do hair and makeup, memorize scripts or get dressed up for this type of video.

More good news is that there are several online tools that make this process so easy and renders a professional looking video for free or at a very low cost.

Here are some fantastic tools for making slideshow videos:

Animoto.com
Flixtime.com
One True Media

5 – Split-screen Interview Videos

There are some online tools that make this available for the average blogger/marketer/business owner. The quality may not be comparable to the similar effect seen on popular news channels, but it is still pretty good. You can use Call Recorder for Skype (Mac users) or Pamela and/or Vodburner (PC)
